Hello again everyone. I wanted to let everyone know that I still exist and haven't forgotten about all of my friends on dA.

A few weeks ago two if my cats became mysteriously ill (and it was oddly unrelated...). Our recently adopted year-old cat, Waffle, recovered quickly after a very expensive visit to the vet, but the other did not fare so well. We had to put Jemima down.... She was suffering and was an older cat. The cost to even begin trying to figure out what was wrong with her was astronomical, and the likelihood that it was a disease or cancer with few treatment options was very high. We simply could not afford it, and we did not want her to suffer. It was the hardest decision my husband and I ever had to make.

I have never seen my husband so stricken and unable to even respond or react. He raised Jemima and she was his special little buddy. We are still getting used to not having such a special and unique part of our lives around anymore. It has become painfully apparent following her loss just how much we take all of or pets for granted unintentionally, and we are taking special care to give each of them love and attention every day.

That aside, I am disappointed in myself for having taken so many liberties in regards to my turn-around time on my commissions. I will be striving to change my working habits to address this issue. As always, if there are concerns about a piece that had been commissioned from me, please feel free to send me a message or an email.

Thanks everyone, and I hope your holiday season is wonderful.

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. It's always difficult to let go of a furry member of the family. Please take all the time you need, we commissioners will wait patiently. Hug

Having just lost our family dog this August, this hit me right in the feels.
She left such a gaping hole in the household and in our hearts, it takes a while to recover, but it certainly makes you appreciate your pets much more.
You don't know what you have until it's gone.

I wish your household the very best this holiday season. :iconsweethugplz:

I've been down that road before as well and it is never easy. *sends love to your way*

You take all the time you need! I am not fretting on my end; your health is way more important than an image. I hope your other cats remain in good health! And my condolences for your loss.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I too had to put down my little buddy, a dog. Although it wasn't cancer, she had diabetes which caused her to have strokes everyday. We couldn't afford insulin shots everyday so we decided to go with the other route as well. It's always hard to let go of our cherished friends, human or animal, but it sounds like your cat had a long and wonderful life with you and your husband! I hope you guys feel better soon and give your other cats extra kisses from now! :D

pets aren't just animals, they're apart of the family. they are like people. when I lost six of my nine chickens to a fox my whole family was devastated, and they were chickens! so I cannot imagine the grief you are experiencing. I am very sorry to hear such awful news, but it sounds as though Jemima was very loved. may she rest in peace<3

Sorry about your loss, and at least you and your husband mourned and grieved together... That's a test of a relationship, and it sounds as if you passed it.
