Weeeellllll... This was done as an very very rare I-never-do-this trade for *Zhon in exchange for a nifty dragon skull which I'm terribly excited about.

The dragon was quite fun to do, though I ran into a few problems with how dark to make it. If it would have been much darker the shading and highlighting would have been pretty much useless. Suffice to say I really like how it turned out, especially the rocks. This is going to eventually end up as a journal topper type thing with a transparent background (hence the flat gray behind the dragon). I just enjoyed this piece so much I had to post it at a larger size than it will most likely end up.

Also, I'll be creating a tutorial on how I did this, because a number of people have been nagging me about it. ;D

PLEASE DO NOT STEAL THIS.

AWEESOME!! I absolutely love the expression and design of the head! The feet and claws are pretty cool, too! The spikes are a very unique shape, and the lighting/shadows is very well done (even on the rocks)!! A definite :+fav:.

haha, I was looking at photos in other tabs prior to this, and I closed the last photo tab and was like... why does this photo have a drab background? Then it hit me that I was looking at your work :XD: DAMN REALISM :shakefist:

I'm honestly a bit worried he's going to rip my face right off my skull.

Hmmm... the tail reminds me of a Yu-Gi-Oh card - Infernal Dragon (Hell Dragon in JP). It looks exactly the same.
